logosmalltranswb.pngWelcome to the Little Scratch Online Art Gallery

Who we are:
This gallery offers you the opportunity to both view and buy the work from a palette of respected international artists whose roots are based in the graffiti art form.  Over the years each artist, or group of artists, has progressed in their own unique direction creating art which goes beyond stereotyped labels of street art or urban art. No longer content to just express their views on walls, they now express their feelings and experiences through a diversity of mediums including paints, pens, photography, videos, sculptures, and even lightwriting. Such is the quality of their work many have shown their pieces in galleries all around the world.

What we do:
We support the artists at Little Scratch by promoting them, creating shows and selling their work.  Indeed, some of the work we sell is exclusive to Little Scratch. Artwork available includes silkscreen prints , giclee fine art prints (including photography) and one-off art pieces and sculptures . Books and vinyl toys can also be purchased  from time to time.  In addition to selling work on behalf of the artist, we also sell selected pieces from individual private collections. Not all art work is shown on line, so please contact us if you would like to see additional pieces.

Little Scratch hopes you enjoy the work displayed at this online gallery. Actual gallery shows will also be set up across Europe and dates will be made available via this website so keep your eyes peeled. You may also wish to subscribe to the monthly news letter. Finally, Little Scratch welcomes any thoughts or feedback, and can be contacted via the Online Assistant or by email

LICHTFAKTOR

Crew of two individuals:

$ehvermögen (Marcel Panne), born 21st May 1973 in Monte Carlo.  Has been a photographer and the first ever VJ in Cologne (1997).  His visuals can be seen in theater projects and concerts, and even at commercial events like Porsche, O2, Epson, and AXE.

JIAR (David Lüpschen), born 26th Oct 1979 in Cologne Germany.  Skillful designer, VJ and graffiti artist who has done many amazing legal graffiti pieces, t-shirts, logo designs.... For more info check *artists profile*

Being into graffiti it was only a small step for Lichtfaktor to start painting with light, and with their experience as VJ’s it was natural to incorporate movement within their work. As a photographer $ehvermögen was familiar with the technique of long time exposure which is an essential part of the process.  So by deciding to combine photography, painting/graffiti and stop-motion film they created “light writing” and with that they opened up a new world.  “For us light writing is an evolution and a chance to animate graffiti characters in urban landscapes. But in general we would say that graffiti is graffiti and lightgraffiti is lightgraffiti.”

Using a collection of flashlights, bike lights, flashing LEDs, fireworks and torches they create some striking pictures and scenes.  “We like the contrast between the different light sources, like xenon is doing this nice golden look, LED’s are making thin precise lines and cold cathode are doing this fat cap style. We like it when the surrounding is integrated well into the picture. Like the trashcans (starwars vs. startrek) or other stuff we bring to life, it is less interesting to just write into the air”.

In fact, Pablo Picasso was the first artist who used this technique by combining both light and painting, although in photography you find many more people who also use this method.  What Lichtfaktor have done is to transfer all their knowledge and experience of street art into “lightwriting movies”.

Lichtfakors influences include Picasso, marko-93 and PIKAPIKA, Graffiti, Streetart, Visual Music, Wolf Vostell, Chargesheimer, Stanley Kubrick, David Lynch, George Lucas, Oskar Fischinger and Laurie Anderson.

LICHTFAKTOR
“The positive thing is that by doing lightgraffiti we are able to produce sequences that really moves through the whole space and not just along a wall.”
